Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox is an absolute must at my house! My daughter loves listening to the repetition and looking at Helen Oxenbury's beautiful pictures. Each time I read 'ten little fingers', my daughter wiggles her little fingers and then lets me count each dainty finger on her hand. I can always count on this book to calm my daughter and encourage her to listen closely.
This book is special to me and can be a treasure for any child. Count each 'baby' as you go through the book and talk about the differences each child has. This book could be a superior lesson on diversity for a child of any age.
I can't speak enough about what a necessity this book is for any child's library.
